TV News package - 2.37 minutes/ 142.2 seconds

This was a TV News package I did for my assignment in third year. I loved it! I edited, produced and reported it. I am so grateful for City of Birmingham Hockey Club for allowing me film and join their family for a day. I got to experience what reporting for a TV news package would be like

This was an interview I done with Tom Bosworth, who is a British Olympic race walker. He holds three World best's and holds six British records. It was a pleasure speaking to him and I thought it was one of the of the best interviews I have done, as it flowed and he was impressed with the questions I asked.

Mental Health Awareness Week Special

It is mental health awareness week from the 10th to 16th May 2021. I have produced, edited and presented a radio documentary piece. This was for my assignment, as well as the desire to produce content for this week. Sports does improves individual's mental health, however it can also create mental health issues for men and women.
We must do better.
You are not alone.

This was an interview I done with Dan Brown, who is the events manager for Nightingale Club in Birmingham. It was very interesting to hear his thoughts and feelings about the lack of support he feel's like the entertainment industry have received during the Coronavirus pandemic.

This was an interview I done with Sarah-Jane Perry who is a professional Squash player and is ranked number 5 in the world! It was great to speak to her and it was exciting talking about the Commonwealth Games 2022 which will be in Birmingham - where she is from and where I go to university! This interview would have been great face-to-face, however due to lockdown that wasn't possible.

This was a virtual interview I done with Jamaican gymnast, Nicholas Tai. It was great speaking to him and hearing about his life and gymnastics career. Comparison to Dominick Cunningham, it was very interesting to understand how fortunate to have British Gymnastics fund and provide many opportunities for British gymnasts, compared to Nicholas and his training environments.

This was an interview I did with gymnast Dominick Cunningham, who is an Commonwealth and European champion. It was great to hear in depth about Dominick's life and Gymnastics career. Being an ex- gymnast for 12 years, this was an interview I very much enjoyed. I was extremely lucky to have interviewed Dominick; it was a great experience.

In this vlog I went to Women’s Boxing Club (WBC) in Birmingham - known for their many awards and for being the faces of the BBC 1 advert on TV. This was so fun to film and it was my first time doing face to face interviews. I loved meeting the boxer's and the famous Jason Lowe! I asked about their views on inequality in boxing, as it’s still a substantial issue in sport especially boxing. Although boxers such as Nicola Adams have encouraged and made a significant amount of change, there is still loads to be done.

I really enjoyed this interview I did with with Councillor Ian Ward. He is the leader of Birmingham City council as well as leader of the Labour Party. It was an honour talking to him about his career and the Commonwealth Games, which will be taking place in Birmingham, 2022. I asked him about the issues with the costs rising for the athletes' village, due to it being higher then what they anticipated and how the coronavirus is going to affect the games.

This was the first radio interview I did! It was for an assignment in my sports journalism course, as well as practicing my interviewing skills as a journalist and my interest towards racism in football. I interviewed Moe Sagaf, who is a professional footballer for Carlisle United. It was interesting to get his views and thoughts about racism in football.
