Stressed? Me too.
Well, these past three years have been challenging, amazing, stressful, inspiring and basically a plate full of every emotion.
I am so grateful for the opportunities I've had at Birmingham City University and when I finally graduate, I know it will be the proudest moment of my life so far.
Going into second semester...already... I know, this academic year has gone quicker than any other... time is not on our side so we need to give it all we got!
These are a few tips that helps me and I'm sure it will help you!
I have a part-time job to help me financially so balancing my time for the past 3 years to make sure I get the best grades and pick up as much overtime as I can has been a handful to say the least. But in my opinion, my degree means the world to me right now so I'm cutting down on the overtime. Don't feel guilty if you are experiencing the same issue as me! Your priority right now is your degree, make sure you find the right balance, so you are not overworking yourself and can study properly without tired eyes.
Plan your week! We're students, so it's so easy to agree to go on a spontaneous night out but you might regret it if you have deadlines approaching in the coming weeks. Or if you planned to spend a day in the library but instead you're hungover in bed...trust me you will enjoy yourself more knowing that you're on top of things and have had a productive day at the library.
Eat healthy. As students it's so easy to let that go, especially if we're working late and need 4 cups of coffee and a sugar rush to keep you going. I've crashed and burned and it's the worst feeling. You don't need 10 cups of coffee to stay awake, you need a healthy foods that naturally give you the right energy, iron rich foods helps the brain function - easier said then done, but health over convenience!
Good luck and remember we got this!
